Propellum is an AI-driven hiring platform designed to simplify the end-to-end recruitment process. From generating job descriptions and LinkedIn posts to shortlisting candidates, the product aimed to reduce manual effort while improving hiring accuracy.
The challenge was complexity. Hiring workflows involve multiple steps-role definition, location context, posting, filtering, and evaluation-all of which needed to be translated into a clear, guided experience. Designing an AI system that felt intelligent yet predictable, powerful yet usable, proved to be the core UX challenge.
Balancing automation with control was critical. HR teams needed confidence that the AI understood their criteria and produced reliable shortlists without feeling opaque or overwhelming.
DESIGN APPROACH
The focus was on simplifying a complex system into a guided, step-by-step experience. Structured inputs for role, location, and hiring intent. Clear AI-generated outputs for job descriptions and social posts
Criteria-driven shortlisting flows to maintain transparency. UX patterns that explain AI decisions rather than hide them
The design went through multiple iterations to resolve edge cases, reduce ambiguity, and ensure the experience remained intuitive despite the underlying complexity.

THE IMPACT
After an intensive 1.5-month design engagement, Propellum emerged as a usable, structured AI hiring tool capable of handling complex recruitment workflows.
The final experience reduced manual effort for HR teams, brought clarity to AI-driven shortlisting, and transformed a highly complex process into a guided, trustworthy workflow-making AI-assisted hiring practical, understandable, and effective.
